Dixie Carter and the Edge

Brandy

Characters on the side of the law did very well on the set of the Edge of Night.

Here is a tribute to Dixie right here on Blogger. She played "Brandy" for a couple of years. My personal favorites were "Calvin" and "Debra." Dixie had her fans, though, as you can see with all the posts about her on the web.

These characters on the Edge did so well that even at age 10, I wanted to be like them and become a police officer and a District Attorney and fight bad guys every-
where.

Obviously, that never panned out, but it made a lot of us dream!

Goodbyes!

The other day, I joined the Facebook site for EON!
I saw a couple...

Today, there was sad news on the character, Dixie.
So stop by there and post condolences when you have the chance.

I had also seen a nice tribute to Ann Williams (April's mom) on You Tube.
Her kids were being interviewed by Diane Sawyer about their book.
THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT.

SOAP INFORMATION / HISTORY!

This week is the last week for Brazilian novel, "America." It is dubbed in Spanish
for those who like the mix of parallel languages. The last day is Monday.

From time to time, I may write about other soaps or telenovelas from around the world.

This link here discusses the Brazilian genre.

The Story & The Artist

When a story is born, so are followers.

Bravo!

Yet as you lie relegated to dusty shelves and recesses,
the stories live on somehow within us...

a story of love between people
a story of time and trials
a story of children & men and women from all walks of life

Today, I remember you with the eyes of a ten-year-old child,
and I remember you with the mind of someone older,
and I still see some of you on 90210 and Gossip Girl and elsewhere.
Just yesterday, I saw many tributes to you by many fans from all over.

One to Ann Williams, One to Lori L., one to Margaret, there are so
many who remember so many more of you.

This unofficial page is also for them.

Leaving Monticello, that last view of the sign, that town,
was eerie, haunting, and I think we really did feel that
emanating from the screen. It is almost unbelievable that
one show could do that and stay within all of our collective
memories still like it is a real town with real people
somewhere in time.

So, this page is for the writers & producers, too, with their gift to
television that has lasted for decades.

The Theme Song!

I always thought that the theme song was catchy and expressive of people's
lives. It was also, ultra-poetic, poignant, and a synthesis of the stories/
plots within the program.

Here it is, for those of you who want to view and listen to it.

I wanted the words to it, and once years ago, I found them on a site
with the words "lavender city" in it. I have to refind that!

The credits are also rolling, and I have always been a credits fan.
I always like to stay and watch along with the music. That part is
a must for any type of archivists. So watch them here?

If you don't recognize any of the names, then you must not be a television
buff. Some of these people are enduring actors!!!
